don't think twice, it's alright

Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d. city (Album)

Top Dawg Entertainment and maybe the most hyped rapper out right now dropped his new album good kid, m.A.A.d. city to much acclaim. I know I’m a little late on a post for it, complain if you want, but the reality of the situation is that I try my best not to write about “major” albums that my readers (you) might care what I have to say about it.. so I really wanted to give this album a good listen before I wrote about it (you can also stream it below if I’m just your music whore.. that’s ok too)..

Heres the deal.. I don’t love this album… I don’t.. I’ve talked to a few people about it already who say they love it and I just can’t see why.. It’s kind of the same way I feel about Tyler the Creator.. people love it, but I just can’t figure it out. I suppose if I gave a shining review to every album I posted, I’d lose credibility, so don’t hate on me too hard if this is your new favorite album.

Now it’s not ALL bad, I’m not saying that. Art of Peer Pressure is one of my favorite tracks right now and to me, the best song on the album. The other highlights are good kid, m.A.A.D City, Swimming Pools, Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst, and Compton are all sick tracks. I’m just not feeling this album as a whole… sue me.
